One of the prizes is a bottle of Gloss ‘n Sparkle The Huntress, which I’ve swatched here today. Gloss ‘n Sparkle are one of my favourite Australian indie brands, and as well as polishes, there are cuticle balms and soy wax melts (both of which are also in my giveaway prize). The first polish I really fell in love with from Gloss ‘n Sparkle was Goblins Grave, a green jelly with green and black glitter, which is gorgeously deep and subtle.
The Huntress is like a more complex version of Goblins Grave. It’s got a deep green jelly base (a bit more blue-toned than in Goblins Grave), and glitters in various shapes and colours.
As well as green, the dominant colours are purple and gold, but there are holo glitters in there which add to the stunning spectrum. I think I like it more than Goblins Grave – it’s depthy and glittery, but not at all garish. I have 3 coats here in the swatch.
Warm Wishes is another quick favourite, despite the appearance of pink, one of my least liked nail colours. I think I can handle dashes of pink, just not plain pink polishes. Warm Wishes is a clear-based topper with copper, gold, orange and pink glitters. Some of these also have holo sparkle. It’s a really lovely colour combination. I have one coat here dabbed over Pretty Serious Purple Monkey Dishwasher, and I’ve used it in quite a few manis so far – it looks great over many different colours.
Tonality is an interesting polish – it’s a topper in a clear base, with black and white matte glitters, as well as a dash of iridescent blue-purple and silver holo glitter. I’m not sure my base of Pretty Serious Grimm Demise is all that good for showing it off – perhaps a dark purple creme would work better. This is one dabbed coat.
Can’t Even Breathe is a mix of copper, teal, purple and magenta glitter in a sheer pastel purple base. The glitter in this polish reminded me a lot of Emily de Molly’s Copper Field, one of my favourite topper polishes, but when I actually compared them they were completely different, though they have the same colour “feel”. My nuggle sister had given up on nail polish for months because of peeling nails, and this was the shade she chose for breaking the drought, so it’s nuggle-approved! I used two coats for this.
I loved all four polishes I was sent. The formulas are excellent, and I really like the luxe feel of the glossy black lids. I also love that I can buy wax melts with the polish – wax melts are one of my new addictions, and I have almost all of the Gloss ‘n Sparkle range now, which I’ll post a review of soon!
