I haven't done a favourites post in ages (since New Years in fact!), so I
thought I'd share some of my recent finds and classic beauty/shiny
The Grove Perfumery Half Baked - Made by the same people who do Glasshouse, this line is sadly discontinued. Half Baked comes in a cute punk-themed glass with an air-tight lid and smells amazingly like cookie dough, but somehow doesn't make me ravenous every time I burn it. Win!
Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid - I've been getting into chemical exfoliants in a big way - they give my skin that clear, even (dare I say glowing?) look. As well as my heavy duty 15% AHA, I use this on my T-zone to deal with pesky blackheads. I just wish it wouldn't itch for 5 minutes after I apply it.
Gloss 'n Sparkle Unicorn Droppings - I'm really getting into indie polishes at the moment, and this Aussie brand is definitely living up to expectations! I used Goblins Grave in my Artsy Wednesday mani. This is Unicorn Droppings, my first Gloss 'n Sparkle lemming. Expect to see a lot more swatches soon.
Trilogy Everything Balm* - I'm using this on my cuticles on several recommendations, and I love it! It melts faster than Burt's Bees' balm, making it much easier to apply. As well as moisturising jojoba, olive and avocado oils, it contains antioxidant-rich marula oil. Unfortunately it's a less handy size for popping in your handbag, but I've transferred a chunk to an old lip balm tin. I'll be picking up a few of these as Christmas presents - they're handily pre-wrapped in adorable candy stripe packaging for the holidays.
A'kin Lavender & Rose Repairing Anti-oxidant Night Creme* - The latest in my night cream saga, sent to me by the lovely Sabine of Echolife (who have free shipping! FREE SHIPPING!!). This has been good to me so far, hydrating all over without breaking out my T-zone or leaving my cheeks dry. It's too late in the year to put it through the ultimate winter test, but this is a promising contender for HG status. The main moisturising ingredients are jojoba and avocado oils, and it's also got panthenol (pro Vit B5) It doesn't contain a lot of my usual favourite glycerin, but I plan to mix some in to see what happens.
The Jojoba Company Hydrating Day Cream* - This hydrating cream lives up to its name! It's full of glycerin, jojoba oil, vitamins B5 and E, green tea, chamomile and olive oil extracts, smells like roses and leaves my skin as smooth and plump as a baby's derriere. I haven't been this impressed with a cream in a while! My only complaint is the lack of sunscreen.
NYX Runway Collection Champagne & Caviar - I bought this when I first got into eyeshadow properly - it's touted as the poor girl's Naked, and makes a good first neutrals palette. The colour range isn't as wide as the Nakeds, but it has solid staples. I usually use the shimmery light brown all over the lid (there are two similar ones, which is handy since that gets the most use!) and dark brown in the crease. There's also a pink shimmer which highlights well, and a nice big mirror.
Daiso Netting sponge on a stick - This is so simple, yet so amazing. The boyfriend says it's like a fat person's grabby stick, and yeah, I do feel incredibly lazy using it, but I can wash my ankles in the shower while barely bending! And my back is more scrubbed than ever. Possibly the best $2.80 I've spent recently!
