Today's Artsy Wednesday theme is Matte and Glossy Combined. This is what I did:
The base is Ciate Paparazzi, another English polish that ilexica sent me. On its own it's a deliciously vampy blood red translucent creme that looks like a blood bag, but when I matted it with Rimmel Lycra Pro Mattifying Topcoat, it looked like chocolate... yum! I stamped over it with a variety of BM and Mash patterns with a regular topcoat. It was subtle but funky - I think if I freehanded instead, it'd be a bit easier to see.

it looks like that matte top coat has totally changed the look of the polish!! fab design! i like this lots xxx

ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea. I'd probably just dot regular top coat over matte surface and vice versa. I love what you did. Kinda reminds me of Nightcrawler's face.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to try that but i was worried about how well the glossy finish would stay on my nails since i find that when i stamp my nails and don't apply a top coat they don't ten to stay > <
