As much as I would've liked to be clever and painted my nails the actual colours of Skittles confectionery for this week's AW theme, my mind just wouldn't let me do it. Brights? In winter? Vetoed! So I used some of my favourite pastels instead: Rimmel Misty Jade, Rimmel Lively Lilac, ulta3 Spring Shower (muted out with a few drops of black), ulta3 Spring Blossom and OPI Skull and Glossbones. To tie it all together, I layered a gold glitter gradient on top with Essence Make It Golden, using the same Q-tip technique as for my earlier glitter gradient mani... more golden showers for y'all! :P
What do you think? The green thumb seems a bit too bright compared with the other colours, but overall I think it was a skittley success!

100% awesome! You used Skull & Glossbones you've won me over!! I was going to get Make It Golden the other day, this post has convinced me I MUST!!
ReplyDeleteYes! It's so cheap, definitely worth it! You totally know I'm going to use S&GB in EVERY SINGLE MANI now ;)
DeleteLOVE this colour combo! im with holly... im a sucker for s&gb! xx
ReplyDeleteS&GB is probably the best investment I've made, polish-wise... it's amazing! :)
DeleteSo delicate and elegant, love it!!
ReplyDeleteThanks! :)
DeleteFor some reason this reminds me of the hunger games movie.
ReplyDeleteI know I should really watch that movie, but... I'm so bad at watching movies. I always fall asleep :(
Deletei love the colors you picked! really lovely and they go great together. the gold glitter tips are a great touch and really tie it all together
ReplyDeleteThank you! :)
Deletegorgeousness, the colours work perfectly with each other : )
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm still not 100% on the green, it's a bit brighter IRL... if I ever try this again I might mix it with a bit of white or grey.
DeleteLol please no more golden showers >.< Jk, I've been wanting to do a gold glitter gradient on my nails lately but I drunkenly let my friend borrow my only gold glitter polish...I want it back so I can do this, this looks great! Btw, thanks for the add :D
ReplyDeleteLol, I can't help it >.< That's permanently associated in my head now.
DeleteI meant to add your blog sooner, but when I went there I realised my pic wasn't on your follower list... so absent-minded!
I'm not even sure if I am for yours?? I didn't realize that following through GFC and just through blogger were separate!
DeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks! :)
DeleteHow cute! Maybe instead of Skittles it's the Easter M&M's? The golden shower (snerk!) really gives it some sparkle too. :)
ReplyDeleteHaha yeah, it can be my very very belated second Easter mani! :)
DeleteYeah these remind me of easter candies: See what I mean?
ReplyDeleteOh yes! With the speckles = gold glitter. Sometimes my head actually thinks it's April... :(
DeleteThe gold tips look great over the pastels. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! Gold glitter somehow works with everything! :)
Deletelooks so pretty with the gold :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I've been having so much fun with my gold glitter lately! :)
DeleteLove this look! Very cute.
ReplyDeleteThanks! :)
DeleteI like the gold gradient!
ReplyDeleteIt was very easy to do, much easier than I expected when I saw them on other people's fingers! :)
DeleteLove it! I've added Make It Golden to my Must Buy Now list - it's gorgeous even though you've forever associated it with wee now. Nice going!
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure :P Essence has such a wide range and they're so cheap - even though they're tiny bottles, I find it difficult to use them up anyway!
DeleteVery Prettiful :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Tif! :)

ReplyDeleteThanks! Blue and gold is such a classic combo :)
